There is no certainty in tactical voting. To keep the Labour candidate out, you have to decide which of the Independent candidate and the Conservative is currently in the lead, and vote for that leader. Otherwise you will be splitting the Independent/Conservative vote and risking letting Labour through.

Andrew and the campaign team spent yesterday canvassing across Croydon and New Addington He made appearances with his team at North End, Surrey Street, New Addington, Forestdale and Lower Addiscombe Road.

Andrew attended the Mayday Funday this morning. The event at Addington Park was a spectacular success for an excellent cause. The Funday was run by Radio Mayday in aid of Mayday hospital and drew an excellent crowd, however it’s future is under threat due to an increase in council charges.

Our local Independent candidate for the General Election, Andrew Pelling, has called for the re-opening of the Socca Cheeta youth club in Portland Road, South Norwood after joining the march organised to grieve for Wesley Younger Solem Sterling, the 16 year old Croydon College student who lost his life after being stabbed at Croydon Arena.

The Pelling campaign was entirely green on Saturday when it tackled four shopping districts by tram. The women on the campaign proved themselves to be rather more hardy when they posed for a picture at New Addington tram stop without the need for an umbrella.

For the past five years, my private life has from time to time been the subject of media scrutiny.

This has been a painful experience and the support of local people has been generous and humbling.  I am very sad that both my marriages have failed, in very different circumstances. I have explained to the press [...]
